Come on in, I'm glad you made it! Can I offer you some coffee? β
That's also how I started my first blog ever posted on this platform just over two years ago... wait, has it been two years already?! Time flies! β³
The year 2022 has come to an end, 2023 has begun, and it's time to look back at what has happened in the last year and to set some new goals for the upcoming year. Maybe the only one to read this blog is going be myself, but just like through mindfulness meditation I've learned that the best way to get a clear picture about ones mind is to look at it through a third-person perspective, so here we go! π§
uProfile January 2022
We're starting the year off with a bang, as I was contacted by Umbraco HQ with the question whether I would be interested in becoming the uProfile Community Member to start the year off with. Of-course I couldn't refuse! Curious? Read all about about here: https://umbraco.com/blog/uprofile-january-2022-corne-hoskam/
Featured on Owain.Codes
Following up January's uProfile, the one and only Owain Williams (also known as the Scottisch Coder, or "Hold up, he was able to make THAT out of lego?!") reached out to me whether I would be interested in being featured on his blog series called the Community Corner. I would be honored! You can read all about it here: https://owain.codes/blogs/2022/march/corne-hoskam-community-corner/
Umbraco Domain Lead @ iO
As of March 2022 I was happy to announce that I got the role of Umbraco Domain Lead at iO Campus Den Bosch. Because of an ever-growing organization there became a need for a dedication lead for knowledge-sharing and innovation for each domain within the organization and off-campus! Not just that, but shortly after I also took the lead as cross-campus Umbraco Expert Group Lead, to rally up the various campus' experts, to discuss and innovate beyond our own location!
Azure Fundamentals AZ-900
It's April 2022, and a couple weeks of self-study managed to pay off! With that I managed pass Microsoft's AZ-900 Exam and add the Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals achievement to my resume!

A New Place to Call Home π‘
Something we have been looking to for months, but when the end of May finally came to be, my girlfriend and I got the keys to our own little apartment! What, you thought this blog was only going to be about my professional life? Nah, there's more to life than that! Celebrate all milestones, and be proud of them! π₯
While amazing, this did bring in quite the additional stress of heading over to Denmark for a midweek, right in the middle of construction...!! π
A Codegarden To Remember π©π°
I've dedicated a post entirely to Codegarden 2022, but I couldn't not mention it again, what an amazing experience it has been! First time speaking abroad, first time Codegarden attendee, and first time Umbraco MVP! π A trip worth remembering, with some amazing colleagues, sessions, inspiration, ΓΈl's, and getting to meet so many people who you've only seen virtually in-person!

DF22
A couple months later, and the biggest Dutch Umbraco Event of the year, DF22, has come around! The place where it all started for me as a speaker only a mere year ago, I couldn't skip out on this one! Armed with a brand new session to talk about, some healthy nerves as always, but with a lot of new and familiar faces, another wonderful event to attend! π¦ https://df22.nl/
Dutch Umbraco Meetup, by iO
Something we have been talking about a while now internally, but haven't gotten around to until now, has been hosting an Umbraco Meetup! A place where both iO colleague's, and members of the Dutch Umbraco User Group could come together, see each-other in-person, and have a fun evening together talking about inspiring topics, in this case Headless Umbraco! I must admit it was a fun change of pace to be the host instead of a speaker at an event for a change! π

A Trip to Edinburgh
A trip we've planned over 2 years ago, but had to keep moving up due to COVID-19, finally came to happen. Taking a break between all the events, meetups, and clients, to go out and be the typical tourist over in Edinburgh, Scotland!
Together with my dad we had a four day trip consisting of a lot of walking, sightseeing, rugby, food, beers, whisky and catching up together!Β π₯

A Well-Deserved Break
Only one more month to go, another 365 days have passed, a round trip around the sun, and it's time to shut down that laptop, enable the two-week out-of-office, and spend time with friends, family and loved ones. Everyone that knows me, knows that Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and the time of the year that I look forward to the most. The cold outside, the warmth inside, the lights, smells, coziness... I love it! πβ
And that wraps up another year! These were only some of the major highlights that I could think off, and I'm sure that the moment I hit Save and Publish three more additions will pop into my head, so I'll either update this blog or keep them for my own to reflect upon. π
New Year, New Opportunities
So now it's 2023, looking back at an extremely busy but exciting year. What will this year have in store for me? Time will tell, but one thing is for certain, I won't sit still! Focusing on some psychical and mental health, some professional milestones that I wish to achieve, some training courses to attend to, some events to speak at, but also to experience the joy of missing out more often.
Yes, not fear, but joy of missing out! There are only 24 hours in a day, and it's important to keep evaluating where your priorities lay and what you spend those 24 hours in a day on, before they get the best of you! And on that note, I'll be wrapping up this blog, sitting back, re-reading this several times over, and look forward to an another year ahead! π₯
You made it this far? I feel honored that you're interested in my reflection! π
